Aveni

Aveni is a University of Edinburgh AI spinout building assurance, compliance and productivity tools for UK financial services firms, using natural language processing to analyse adviser-client conversations and monitor conduct. Founded around 2018 by Joseph Twigg and NLP researcher Lexi Birch, its products help firms detect compliance risks and improve efficiency, and it has developed domain-specific language models for financial services. It has raised approximately £23M in total, including an £11M Series A led by Puma Private Equity and a later £12M round led by PXN Ventures. Customers and backers include Lloyds Banking Group and Nationwide.
