Axle Energy

Axle Energy builds a software layer that connects distributed home energy assets, such as EV chargers, domestic batteries and heat pumps, and coordinates them as a single virtual power plant. The platform integrates these assets directly into electricity markets on behalf of utilities, fleet operators and OEMs, using forecasting and optimization to balance grid supply and demand. It currently manages over 300,000 connected devices representing more than 2GW of flexible capacity. Founded in 2023 by former Bulb executive Karl Bach and data scientist Archy de Berker, the company raised a $25M Series A in July 2026 led by Energize Capital, following a $9M seed led by Accel.
