Cosine

Cosine is the maker of Genie, an autonomous AI software engineer that picks up tickets from tools like GitHub, Jira and Linear, then writes, tests and submits code as pull requests. Founded in 2022 by Alistair Pullen and Yang Li and backed by Y Combinator, the London-based company drew attention in August 2024 when Genie recorded a then-leading SWE-Bench score of around 30%, a large jump over prior systems. It has raised roughly $8M from investors including Lakestar and SOMA Capital. The company has since worked on more ambitious frontier model efforts for coding.
