Cursor, built by Anysphere, is an AI-powered code editor that lets developers write, edit, search and refactor code using natural-language instructions and autonomous agents. Founded in 2022 by MIT students Michael Truell, Sualeh Asif, Arvid Lunnemark and Aman Sanger, it has become one of the fastest-growing developer tools, reaching over $1B ARR in late 2025 and passing $2B by early 2026. The company is opening a European headquarters in London. In November 2025 it closed a $2.3B Series D at a $29.3 billion valuation, co-led by Accel and Coatue with participation from Google and NVIDIA.
