Featurespace

Featurespace provides real-time AI-driven fraud and financial-crime prevention, using adaptive behavioural analytics to detect anomalous transactions as they happen. Founded in 2008 out of Cambridge University's engineering department by Bill Fitzgerald and David Excell, it is headquartered in Cambridge with a team of over 400 across several global locations. Its customers include major banks and payment firms such as HSBC, NatWest, and Worldpay. Visa acquired the company in a deal valued at around $935M (roughly £700M), completing the acquisition in December 2024, making it a Visa subsidiary.
