# Lucida Medical

Lucida Medical is a University of Cambridge spin-out (founded 2019 by Dr Antony Rix and Prof. Evis Sala) building AI software to detect and diagnose cancer from MRI. Its flagship product, Pi (Prostate Intelligence), analyses prostate MRI scans and reports around 95% sensitivity, comparable to expert radiologists, to speed up and improve diagnosis. The CE/UKCA-certified platform is deployed across NHS hospitals in the UK and in Europe, trained and validated on thousands of patient scans. A March 2026 £8.7M round (led by IW Capital, with XTX Ventures and Macmillan Cancer Support) funds US FDA approval and expansion to additional cancer types.
