Onfido
Onfido provides AI-powered identity verification, using computer vision and biometrics to check government-issued documents and match them to a live selfie for remote onboarding and anti-fraud. Founded in 2012 by former University of Oxford students Husayn Kassai, Eamon Jubbawy and Ruhul Amin, it raised roughly $288M from investors including Salesforce Ventures and TPG Growth before its exit. In April 2024 it was acquired by Entrust for a reported $650M and now operates as part of Entrust's identity-centric security portfolio. Its verification technology serves banks, fintechs and online marketplaces needing regulated KYC and identity assurance.
