Speechmatics

Speechmatics builds speech-to-text and voice AI technology focused on accurate, real-time automatic transcription across a very wide range of languages, accents and dialects. Its self-service and enterprise APIs are used by developers and companies for transcription, captioning, contact-centre analytics and voice-enabled applications. Originally founded in 2006 in Cambridge as Cantab Research by speech-recognition pioneer Tony Robinson, the company has emphasised reducing bias in recognition across demographics. It raised a $62M Series B in 2022 led by Susquehanna Growth Equity, with participation from AlbionVC and IQ Capital, and employs roughly 110 people.
