Stability AI builds open generative-AI models spanning image, video, audio and 3D, best known for the Stable Diffusion family of text-to-image models. The company positions its models as openly available foundations that developers, enterprises and creators can run and fine-tune themselves. After financial and leadership turmoil in 2024, it was recapitalised and is now led by CEO Prem Akkaraju, with a strategic partnership with WPP for advertising and media use cases. Founded in 2019, it employs roughly 190 people and has raised on the order of $350M from investors including Coatue, Lightspeed, Sound Ventures and Intel.
