Wayve

Wayve develops embodied-AI software for autonomous driving using an end-to-end, learning-based approach rather than hand-coded rules or HD maps, aiming to make its 'AI Driver' portable across different vehicles and hardware. Founded in 2017 by Cambridge machine-learning researchers Alex Kendall and Amar Shah, the company licenses its self-driving stack to automakers as plug-and-play software and is preparing London robotaxi trials. It raised a $1.05B Series C in 2024 led by SoftBank and a Series D in February 2026 that brought in around $1.2B (up to $1.5B including an Uber commitment), pushing total funding above $3B at a roughly $8.6B valuation. Investors include SoftBank, NVIDIA, Microsoft, Uber and Eclipse Ventures.
