Writer

Writer is a full-stack generative AI platform that lets large enterprises build, deploy and manage secure AI applications and agents for business workflows. Founded in 2020 by May Habib and Waseem Alshikh, it develops its own family of Palmyra large language models plus tooling for retrieval, guardrails and agent orchestration aimed at regulated, mission-critical use cases. It raised a $200M Series C in November 2024 at a $1.9B valuation, bringing total funding to $326M. More than 300 large organizations use Writer, including Accenture, L'Oreal, Mars, Prudential, Salesforce, Vanguard and Uber. Headquartered in San Francisco, it also operates offices including a London and Dublin presence.
