HelixDB

HelixDB is an open-source graph-vector database, built in Rust, that natively combines vector embeddings with graph relationships to give AI agents and LLM applications low-latency, relationship-aware retrieval for RAG. By unifying vector and graph operations in a single system, it aims to replace separate vector databases, graph databases, and custom syncing layers, offering sub-millisecond graph traversals and roughly 2ms vector searches. It was founded in 2025 by CEO George Curtis and co-founder Xavier Cochran, and went through Y Combinator's Spring (X25) batch. Reported early funding is around $500K from Y Combinator and Pioneer Fund; the company also offers a managed cloud service.
