About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Manager, External Reporting (IFRS) to ensure Nscale’s external financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

As a senior member of the external reporting team, you’ll oversee financial statements, regulatory filings, and disclosures while partnering with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, Tax, Internal Audit, and external auditors.

This role will strengthen reporting governance, controls, and processes as Nscale scales, supporting the integrity of our financial information in a fast-paced, publicly traded or pricate start up environment

What you'll be doing

IFRS and external reporting

  • Prepare Nscale’s annual financial statements and disclosures in accordance with IFRS and applicable UK reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the UK Strategic Report and other components of the annual reporting process.
  • Ensure external financial reporting is accurate, complete, consistent, and delivered to agreed timelines.

Bank group reporting

  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements and management accounts for all relevant bank reporting groups.
  • Ensure bank reporting is consistent with underlying Group financial information and applicable accounting and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet reporting obligations and deadlines associated with financing arrangements.
  • Support responses to accounting and financial reporting queries from lenders and other financing stakeholders.

External and statutory audit

  • Act as a primary Finance liaison with Nscale’s external auditors for the IFRS Group audit.
  • Coordinate audit deliverables, technical accounting matters, and financial statement review processes to support an efficient year-end audit.
  • Lead Finance coordination for audits required for bank reporting groups.
  • Support statutory financial statement preparation and audit processes across the UK and relevant European jurisdictions.

Controls and reporting governance

  • Support the design, documentation, and operation of internal controls relating to external financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen financial reporting processes, controls, and documentation as the Group continues to scale.
  • Establish robust review and governance processes around financial statements, disclosures, and other external reporting.
  • Maintain appropriate supporting documentation and audit trails for significant accounting judgements and reporting positions.

KPIs

  • Accurate, complete, and timely external financial reporting
  • Delivery of audit requirements to agreed timelines
  • Compliance with IFRS, UK reporting, and financing obligations
  • Strength and scalability of reporting controls and governance

About You

  • 6+ years of post-qualification experience, including significant exposure to IFRS technical accounting and external reporting.
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) with a solid background in external financial reporting.
  • Experience gained in a Big Four or large accounting firm and/or a listed multinational company is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of complex IFRS standards, including IFRS 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17, as well as consolidation principles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external audits, regulatory filings, and compliance processes.
  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance frameworks, with experience developing scalable control environments.
  • Experience with US GAAP or local GAAP-to-IFRS reconciliations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical accounting matters clearly to executives, auditors, and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented, with the integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail needed to build processes from the ground up.
  • Collaborative, transparent, and proactive, with a hands-on approach and commitment to continuous learning.
