Nscale is an AI hyperscaler that develops, owns, and operates greenfield data centres and large-scale GPU infrastructure, delivering high-performance AI cloud services through a full-stack approach. Founded in 2023 by Josh Payne and Nathan Townsend, it is headquartered in London. In March 2026 it raised a $2B Series C led by Aker ASA and 8090 Industries at a $14.6B valuation, described as the largest funding round ever for a European startup, with backers including NVIDIA, Dell, Nokia, and Point72. Its board additions have included former Meta executives Sheryl Sandberg and Nick Clegg.
